Welcome to Saamya Counselling

Saamya (साम्य) (n): Equanimity; a calm and balanced state of mind.

The mind is like a lake - at rest, calm and balanced.

The challenges of our daily lives and the impressions of our past act like rocks that cause ripples in the lake and negatively affect this balanced state; at times, making it seem impossible to recover.

Just like the lake though, it’s our very nature to seek rest, restore balance and find equanimity. At Saamya, our purpose is to help you feel enabled to embrace your unique experiences as something to build upon and find the balance, once again.

We wish you the best in your journey.

At times, the grief gets complicated and disenfranchised which is experienced privately, such as loss of a pregnancy or a relationship that others did not know about.

When you are grieving, you tend to shut yourself and feel isolated. At Saamya, through an eclectic approach, we help you accept and process your loss and sit with you while you grieve.

    Abuse & Trauma Counselling

Abuse and trauma can come in many different forms. At times, it is hard to clearly identify each form as they tend to overlap.

Abuse can be physical, emotional and / or psychological. Whereas physical abuse can be seen, it is harder to acknowledge and comprehend others. These experiences are often confusing, shocking and embarrassing. They can have severe short and long-term effects resulting in trauma.

At Saamya, we understand that working through abuse and trauma is a highly individual and personal experience. We help you feel safe in an empathetic and non-judgmental environment and sit with you while you process your trauma, work on it and heal.

  • Intuitive & Psychic Counselling

    Intuitive & Psychic Counselling

Sometimes, the answers we seek out there are already within us. All it takes is to quieten the mind and listen to the gentle whispers of our own inner wisdom.

In this mode of counselling, we sit together and try to listen to the guidance of our subconscious mind that knows exactly why we feel stuck and how we can come out of it.

In this modality, we use an intuitive and psychic approach using psychological images of tarot cards and channelling intutive wisdom to understand the way forward. We still use the principles of person-centred approach and ACT based techniques to understand what your values are and how you can commit yourself to those values.

Healing with us…

At Saamya, we take a holistic approach to mental health. We use a combination of evidence based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in conjunction with intuitive, mindful practices.

In this approach, we work with you to enhance the psychological flexibility so you can accept the challenges you are facing and commit to the behaviour that is more consistent with your own values.

In practing Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), we help you with techniques to stay focused on the present moment and accept thoughts and feelings instead of dwelling in the past or trying to control things to be in a certain way.
